Hare coursing incidents

October 9th, 2016

There have been numerous incidents of hare coursing taking place since the end of harvest and whilst the ground remains dry coursers are regularly driving and walking onto land to chase hares. Please report all incidents to the police and to Farmwatch. If you are able to obtain details of the vehicles without putting yourself in danger then this can be very useful. Details of all vehicles, how many occupants, how many and what type of dogs and if they are witnessed coursing or walking across fields. All help to establish offences. Please remember the coursers do not need to chase or catch a hare for the offence to be completed. The offence is trespass in pursuit of game.

PLEASE CALL 999 IF YOU SEE PERSONS ON LAND WITH LONG DOGS WHO MAY BE COURSING.

ALL INCIDENTS OF HARE COURSING ARE NOW ILLEGAL.
